messiah
“He began to speak to those gathered on the hillside below where he stood. His voice was filled with energy and everyone could hear his message.
“Your hearts are hard, and you have forgotten how to listen to the Voice within. You look to the priests for answers to your suffering. You think by giving money to a priest to sacrifice an animal upon the altar in the temple a hand will issue forth from a cloud to raise you up from your troubles. But I tell you all a man need ever do is silence his mind and listen! God whispers in every ear. Be silent so that you may hear! The priests want you to believe God speaks only to them, but you have closed your heart against God so He cannot speak to you. Your ears have turned to stone. Each of you can be a priest or a prophet if you silence anxious thoughts and turn inward. The voice which speaks inside the mind cannot be heard when the heart is troubled. The heart must be at peace and the mind restful. Then, and only then will you hear God.”
Jesus returned to Judea as an adult who traveled 4,000 miles in search of documents left behind for him by people from another galaxy. From long forgotten documents he extracted fundamental truths from the Vedas of India, the teachings of Zoraster, and Buddha. A revered Shaman in China, Shang-Zhou, hid numerous documents in monasteries located at the edge of Gobi Desert and in a hidden Buddhist temple beside an everlasting spring in the middle of the Takla Makan Desert, a fearsome wasteland in western China.
These philosophies contributed to the formation of Jesus’ moral standards. It was from Galilee that he began his ministry. Central to his message was kindness toward others, love for those who were different, and that the Kingdom of God was imminent. To Roman rulers, Judea was a wasteland filled with unruly malcontents who fomented rebellion at every turn. In Galilee Zealots found protection from the hammer of the Roman Army. Priests of the Sanhedrin and Pharisees kept close watch over the sermons Jesus preached because he was a threat to the position they held in the community, and the income derived from temple sacrifices.
It was on to this tumultuous stage that Jesus put forth ideas and concepts which challenged the priests in the Sanhedrin who were responsible for maintaining order and peace in the Jewish population. As Jesus continued to attract more followers, he became an even greater threat to the established relationship between Rome and the Temple priests. Pressure to eliminate Jesus became extreme and led to his death.
“I am the God of your world. Trust in me as I trust in you. Go now and begin the work of the last Keeper of the Way.”
The message faded, replaced by a voice she instantly recognized as the clarion call of the One To Come. “And I say to them, go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.”
Amariah lifted her head, took a deep breath, and walked toward her destiny.
